The Spin Filtering tests with antiprotons proposed to the CERN-SPSC by the PAX-collaboration require that the filter target is operated subsequently with polarized hydrogen and deuterium gas. Therefore the target polarime-ter must enable to measure both species. A special resonator with both transverse magnetic rf-components relative to the static B-field for the polarimeter’s rf-transitions has been developed that can be operated on two adjustable frequencies. The design and successful test of the resonator based on two sets of tilted twin-lines is described. |
