The geometrical effects on heat transfer and pressure drop of a disc and doughnut type heat exchanger have been investigated. Additionally a cross flow tube bundle having the same tube pitches as the steam reformer has been tested for comparison. Data collected include the mean heat transfer coeffic...

The geometrical effects on heat transfer and pressure drop of a disc and doughnut type heat exchanger have been investigated. Additionally a cross flow tube bundle having the same tube pitches as the steam reformer has been tested for comparison. Data collected include the mean heat transfer coefficient in the Reynolds number range 10$^{4}$ $\le$ Re $\le$ 2 10$^{5}$ for different tube positions within the bundles, the local circumferential and spanwise heat transfer as well and the hydraulic resistance of the heat exchangers.
