Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Energiebilanzen (AGEB) wurde am 26. März 1971 in Essen von sieben Verbänden der deutschen Energiewirtschaft und drei auf dem Gebiet der energiewirtschaftlichen Forschung tätigen Instituten gegründet. Sie „wertet die vorhandenen Statistiken aus allen Gebieten der Energiewirtschaft nach wissenschaftlichen Gesichtspunkten aus, erstellt Energiebilanzen und macht diese der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich“. Die AG Energiebilanzen erstellt regelmäßig jedes Jahr eine Energiebilanz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

Die Country Analysis Briefs sind Berichte über die Energiesituation in den Ländern und Regionen dieser Welt. Neben einem generellen aktuellen Überblick enthalten sie Informationen zum Rohstoffvorkommen (Erdöl, Kohle, Erdgas) des Landes, Stromversorgung sowie eine Zusammenfassung der wichtigsten ökonomischen Daten. Data through 2009 by country, region, and commercial group (OECD, OPEC) for 217 countries including total and crude oil production, oil consumption, natural gas production and consumption, coal production and consumption, electricity generation and consumption, primary energy, energy intensity, CO2 emissions and imports and exports for all fuels.

Statista.com is a statistic portal which integrates data on over 80.000 topics from over 18.000 sources onto a single professional platform. Categorized into 21 market sectors, Statista.com provides companies, business customers, research institutions, and the academic community with direct access to quantitative data on media, business, finance, politics, and a wide variety of other areas of interest or markets. The data sources include market research reports, such as the Ipsos Affluent Survey published annually by Ipsos Media, Simmons National Consumer Studies and Consumer Insights from Scarborough Research, as well as trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases. The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) launched a new internet based data service for the global user community. It brings UN statistical databases within easy reach of users through a single entry point. Users can now search and download a variety of statistical resources of the UN system. Useful features like Country Profiles, Advanced Search and Glossaries are also provided to aid research. The numerous databases, tables and glossaries containing over 60 million data points cover a wide range of themes including Agriculture, Crime, Education, Employment, Energy, Environment, Health, HIV/AIDS, Human Development, Industry, Information and Communication Technology, National Accounts, Population, Refugees, Tourism, Trade, as well as the Millennium Development Goals indicators.
