This site provides free access and download to of a growing selection of DWD’s climate data. Via CDC Search you will find data for direct download and interactive access to station data. The interactive mode gives graphical and tabular previews of the German station data. In addition, all data sets remain accessible from our ftp server for direct download. For a quick start, click on the preconfigured Favorites/examples below.

The CDC Data Catalogue describes the Climate Data of the DWD and provides access to data, descriptions and access methods. Climate Data refers to observations, statistical indices and spatial analyses. CDC comprises Climate Data for Germany, but also global Climate Data, which were collected and processed in the framework of international co-operation. The CDC Data Catalogue is under construction and not yet complete.

The ECA Dataset contains series of daily observations at meteorological stations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Part of the dataset is freely available for non-commercial research and education: see our data policy for more details. To download this part of the data select one of the options below. The non-downloadable series may be available from the data provider directly, as well as additional data. Please direct your inquiries to obtain these data to the ECA&D Project Team. Note that a gridded version with daily temperature, precipitation and pressure fields is also available, as well as a predefined set of aggregated indices data.
