Vladimir Fortov

Fortov in 2013 Vladimir Yevgenyevich Fortov (; 23 January 1946 – 29 November 2020) was a Russian physicist and politician who served as director of the Joint Institute for High Temperatures (1992–2013) and as president of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2013–2017).
