1) Introduction: brief overview of particle physics. 2) Symmetries and quarks: discrete symmetries, flavor symmetries. 3) Introduction to QCD, gauge theories, QCD Lagrangian, asymptotic freedom, scale anomaly. 4) Chiral symmetry, light quark sector, exact and approximate symmetries of QCD, Goldstone alternative and bosons, decoupling theorem. 5) Chiral anomaly, decay of the neutral pion, the Ua(1) Problem, instantons. 6) Cross sections and decay widths. 7) Bound state and resonances. 8) Unitarity and analyticity. 9) Dispersion relations.
