Measurements of atmospheric trace gas concentrations, photolysis frequencies, and meteorological parameters from a field campaign in Jülich (lat.: 50.9°N, long.: 6.3°E, alt.: 100 m above sealevel) are presented. The measurements were performed at the earth surface between July 29 and August 13, 1990, aperiod of fine weather with hardly any precipitation. The objectives of the field study were to probe near surface air masses and determine their trace gas composition and their photochemical activity. Ultimate goal is the comparison with appropriate numerical model calculations to test our current understanding of the trace gas chemistry of the lower atmosphere. They are the same as for the field study in 1988 at the same location (Poppe et al., 1993). The measured quantities include the concentration of OH, O$_{3}$, NO, and NO$_{2}$, NO$_{y}$, HCHO, SO$_{2}$, CH$_{4}$, CO, nonmethane hydrocarbons up to C7, peroxy acetylnitrate, and aldehydes. The photolysis frequencies of O$_{3}$ and NO$_{2}$ were monitored together with pressure, relative humidity, wind speed and wind direction. The report presents the experimental material and the experimental techniques. A discussion of the experimental uncertainties is also given. The access to the data in computerized form for interpretation and processing is indicated. |
