In order to detect strontium-90 in a mixture of fission products there exists, apart from the chemical separation, another possibility to analyse the complex $\beta$-spectrum of fission products, because strontium-90 is a pure $\beta$-radiator . Different possibilities are given to evaluate complex $\beta$-spectra. Especially, the Kurie-analysis, the method with standard-spectra, and a discriminator-procedure are studied and compared . lt was shown that for series investigations with the known composition of $\beta$-spectra, as is required for the determination of strontium concentration profiles in coated particles, the discriminator procedure is most appropriated due to its high sample throughput and the simple analysis. |
