A method is described to smear extremely thin layers of nuclear emulsion on labelled electron microscope preparations and to measure the thickness of this layers. Without further separation preparation and emulsion can be observed after exposure and development in electron microscope. The source of the tracks formed in the emulsion can be exactly identified and the size and structure determined. This method finds applications in dust research and also in the analysis of medical and biological sections. Further information can be obtained about properties of different emulsions. |
