In the stellarator, toroidal equilibrium is obtained by the addition of helical magnetic fields to the basic $\Theta$-pinch-field. Helical fields generated by external windings are calculated from the scalar magnetic potential $\Theta$. A general expression of $\Phi$ for fields of 1-fold symmetry is given. The l=1-field is investigated in detail. The influence of the image-currents in an outer conducting wall (compression coil) on the magnetic field and the inductance is studied. |
