Here we present an overview of why and how ideal relativistic magneto-hydrodynamics has been implemented in the ECHO-QGP code, with the aim to describe in a self-consistent way the dynamical evolution of the Quark Gluon Plasma in the presence of strong magnetic fields, like those generated by the fast moving charges of the nuclei in heavy ion collisions. After explaining the motivations, we will briefly illustrate the adopted formalism and we will present some preliminary results. In the conclusions, we will focus on the future developments. |
